Property Description

This countryside house with cellars, convertible attics and outbuildings is set in a 0.74acre land. On the ground floor, it comprises a corridor, a dining room with fireplace, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, wc. The first floor consists of a bedroom. There is also a convertible attic and cellars. The outbuildings are adjacent to the house. It is located in the Parc du Morvan, 15km from Avallon. Avallon is a picturesque walled hilltop town in the Yonne department of Burgundy, in North Central France. The town boasts wide streets and pretty promenades and is situated on a flat promontory, overlooking the Cousin River and the Park Naturel Regional du Morvan. Its chief building, the church of St Lazare, dates from the 12th century and is adorned with sculpture in the Romanesque style. The Tour de L'Horloge, pierced by a gateway through which passes the Grande Rue, is an 11th century structure containing a museum. Remains of the ancient fortifications, including seven of the flanking towers, are still to be seen, as are various Medieval and Renaissance houses. The sleepy, cobbled town is enlivened by the Saturday morning market, and also has bars, cafes, restaurants and all necessary amenities. Activities include festivals (a carnival in April, a music and dance festival in June), exhibitions and music events. Outdoor pastimes include hiking, mountain biking, tennis and swimming. The surrounding area is also full of history, including medieval fortresses’ and houses, caves and chateaux. Avallon is 2h from airports in Paris and 2h20 from Lyon airport.
